Over €300,000 worth of refurbishment works have been completed at a Bagenalstown sports facility.
Improvements at the McGrath Memorial Park were officially unveiled by Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, Denis Foley.
The entrance to the park has been upgraded, with parking, fencing, lighting and landscaping also being improved.
Carlow County Council received €150,000 funding from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to complete the works, which it then matched.
The McGrath Memorial Park was named in honour of Daniel McGrath, who passed away in July 1941. The Daniel McGrath Foundation was set up to provide a town hall and a sports field in the town.
The park is now home to the GAA, the local rugby club, the cricket club and the tennis club, as well as the soccer club and the pitch and putt club.
Cathaoirleach Foley paid tribute to the council staff who contributed to the latest development, including areas engineer, Ray Wickham, Director of Services, Seamus O'Connor and County Manager, Tom Barry.
