A €3.5m building project has been officially opened at Scoil Santain gaelscoil in Tallaght, Dublin.
The project comprises a mainstream classroom, library and storage room.
Education Minister Batt O'Keeffe said the project was a "fine example" of the government’s ongoing school building programme, which he said has been "ramped up over the past decade to meet the accommodation needs of students and teachers".
"Over €610m has been earmarked this year for school building projects," said the Minister.
"The target for this year for both primary and post-primary schools is 9,475 permanent places in new schools, 3,900 permanent school places in existing schools and refurbishments to benefit over 2,400 pupils.
"The vision of An Cumann Gaelach in Tallaght has driven the development of the area's two all-Irish primary schools and one post-primary school.
"I'm delighted that over 1,000 children in Tallaght are now receiving their education through Irish.
"Scoil Santain is playing a key part in educating local pupils through Irish and in promoting education and learning in our native tongue," said Minister O'Keeffe.
Scoil Santain has a principal, 12 mainstream teachers and three learning support teachers.
