The first residents have moved into a new £1.1m housing scheme in Glenbryn Park, North Belfast, as the government renewed its pledge to provide 1,750 more homes this year.
The development has been provided by Belfast Community Housing Association with the support of the Housing Executive. It comprises three, four bedroom and four, three bedroom family houses.
Housing Minister Margaret Richie officially handing over keys to new resident Mrs Mercer, a local mother of two.
The Minister said: "This is a boost for people in Glenbryn. This new family accommodation means that local people with young families, and aspirations for the future, can stay local and help maintain and sustain this community.
"I want to deliver more new homes than ever before and this year, we will deliver 1,750 new houses. So new developments like this one today are very important in helping me deliver those homes."
Ms Ritchie added: "New housing like this creates choice and opportunity for those who very often have little, so I am particularly pleased to be here this morning to hand over the keys to the first tenants of these new homes."
