New Sligo Water Facility Plans

Plans for a new water treatment facility have been announced by Sligo County Council.

The council said it intends to construct a plant for the Lough Talt Regional Water Supply Scheme at Gortersluin, in Tubbercurry.

"The works are being progressed in order to address water quality issues. The Lough Talt Regional Water Supply Scheme appears on the Environmental Protection Agency's Remedial Action List," a council spokesman said.

Proposed works include the construction of new buildings and structures, construction of access roads and other associated site works.

Particulars and drawings of the proposed development will go on public display at Sligo council offices tomorrow, and be available for viewing until 10 September.
