Plans to start resurfacing work on a section of the M1 Motorway, have been announced.
Road Service said the resurfacing works will take place on the westbound section between Junction 9 Moira and Junction 10 Lurgan.
Works will run from 5 to 7 September, having previously been scheduled for 22 to 24 August.
Road Service said it had suspended the scheme due to "adverse weather conditions".
According to Mark McPeak, Roads Service’s Project Manager the works are essential to strengthen this section of the M1 so it can carry today's very high traffic volumes.
The scheme will also provide good skidding resistance, and improve the safety and comfort of road users, Mr McPeak said.
"The work will be restricted to weekend and overnight working. However, some delays will be inevitable and we would ask that motorists be patient as these essential works progress," he said.
For safety reasons, it will be essential to close the M1 westbound between Junction 9 and Junction 10 at various times throughout the duration of the works, however two lanes will be kept open during most of the day.
