Craigavon Borough Council has offered Lurgan high street businesses the chance to enhance their exterior through a new Shop Front Improvement Scheme.
The innovative scheme, which offers grants towards external improvements to shop premises, is available to all independent retailers in the town.
Chair of the council's Development Committee, Alderman Sydney Anderson, said: "In the current economic climate it is often difficult for independent businesses to find the money they require to improve their business.
"This is an excellent opportunity for shopkeepers in Lurgan to avail of grants which can help give their shop premises a facelift which could help increase their customer base."
Paul Kavanagh, Economic Development Officer, added: "We are delighted to offer shop improvement grants to independent retailers in Lurgan.
"Ten local shop owners have already secured grants which they have used to greatly improve the appearance of their premises and also help preserve the special character of Lurgan town centre."
