Residents in a Co Antrim housing area have celebrated the completion of their estate's new entrance feature.
Designed to mark the 50th anniversary of Ballyclare's Ollardale estate, it was praised by Newtownabbey Mayor, Alderman John Scott.
He was joined by NI Housing Executive Chief Executive, Paddy McIntyre to mark the official completion of the planted area at the estate entrance on the town's Doagh Road.
It was the culmination of a joint project involving Ollardale Community Group, the Housing Executive and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
Speaking at the event, Mr McIntyre paid tribute to the group’s hard work and commitment in developing this project and in their wider work for the community.
He said: "Ollardale reflects a settled community and environment where neighbourliness is to the fore and I am sure that this is in no small measure due to the dedicated, active community group, supported by local residents.
"This attractive entrance feature is a practical example of the value of partnership working and I hope will remain as a reminder of the community values that exist in Ollardale for many years to come."
Also speaking at Ollardale, Mayor Scott added: "Such projects take a lot of hard work and commitment and it’s a pleasure to be here today to see it in completion."
