Communities Minister Éamon Ó Cuív has sanctioned €422,100 to Coiste Halla na Feothanaí, Baile na nGall, in Co Kerry, to carry out restoration work on their community hall.

Extensive restoration work needs to be carried out, including repairs to the roof, new floors and a new heating system, said Mr Ó Cuív.

The building will be totally restored following completion of the works and this will enable the continuation of the various activities carried out in the hall.

An extension to the hall is planned for the future.

Announcing the grant, the Minister said: "Halla na Feothanaí is a great facility and is of vital importance to this area and I am delighted that funding from my Department has enabled the restoration to be carried out.

"This work will ensure that various activities can continue in the security and comfort of the newly refurbished hall."
