New Zinc Range From Copper Ridge

As a result of client feedback, Co Antrim-based copper supplier Copper Systems Ltd has made additions to its portfolio of existing products.

The company has added a range of VM Zinc flashings and ridges in four shades of colour.

The new cost-effective VM Zinc additions will, along with the existing copper range increase the choice and versatility for clients with regard to their roofing requirements. The VM Zinc Ridge systems, like the existing copper systems, are supplied as a full kit and designed to allow for a quick and easy installation.

Stuart Penrose, founder of the company, said: "I always feel disheartened when I visit or pass a building that had been completed some years previously, to see the natural vibrant colours and grain of slate masked by a coating of moss or to see white stains crossing the roof because of the use of lead.

"Lead has a shorter life span and less environmentally friendly than copper. With copper the naturally occurring sulphate will help in keeping the moss and algae at bay and if used in conjunction with rainwater harvesting an added bonus is that you won't have to worry about lead deposits in the collection."

One of the original aims of the company, according to Stuart, was to promote a traditional method of roof flashing, i.e. copper, as an alternative to lead.

Copper Systems Ltd products have been featured on RTE1 & TG4 in the 'Redmond House' programme in Co Wicklow.
