Fine Gael yesterday published legislation that will allow the Auditor General to fully investigation dealings by the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA).
Environment Minister John Gormley previously stated that legally the Auditor General cannot get involved with the DDDA.
However, FG Deputy Phil Hogan's legislation grants the power to audit the Authority.
"John Gormley and his Fianna Fáil colleagues will no longer be able to hide behind the false argument that, legally, the Comptroller and Auditor General cannot investigate the DDDA," he said.
"For over a year I have been campaigning on this issue, striving to expose the murky dealings that went on at the DDDA."
He claimed the Authority "was hijacked by Anglo-Irish" and the 'old boys club' got involved in "very dodgy land deals".
"A full, independent investigation by the Auditor General is the least that is needed and Fianna Fáil and the Greens must support my legislation in full if they are serious about exposing the truth of what went on at the docklands," added Mr Hogan.
