High winds have left residents in several Irish counties without electricity.
Thousands of homes in north Wicklow, Carlow and Cork suffered power cuts on Tuesday night, as falling timber struck overhead cables.
The winds have caused more problems to areas already struggling to cope with the freezing conditions of recent weeks.
Engineers from the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) worked to restore supplies to the homes.
About 1,000 homes in north Wicklow were reconnected to the national grid on Wednesday morning.
A spokeswoman for the Electricity Supply Board said crews of engineers were continuing to work to restore electricity to other affected areas.
