NI Education Minister, Caitríona Ruane, has officially opened a new play area at Naíscoil Colmcille an Charraig Mhór in County Tyrone.
Speaking during a visit to the school, the Minister said: "I am honoured to open this excellent new play area for Naíscoil Colmcille, which has been funded by my Department, in partnership with the WELB and the Big Lottery Awards for All.
"Quality Early Years provision is a vital element of every child’s education, promoting their social, physical and cognitive skills. It provides a strong foundation for learning and healthy development for young children. Access to a safe outdoor play space can assist in this development. It is also great fun. The pre-school is now well equipped to meet the needs of its children for many years to come."
She continued: "I would like to pay tribute to the Principal, staff, governors and parents at Naíscoil Colmcille for their hard work and commitment to providing pre-school education in our island’s native language and wish all at the school and playgroup every success in the future."
