Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced a major investment in the roads network in Armagh.
Resurfacing schemes will take place on Keady Road, Newtownhamilton; Summerisland Road, Ardress and Derrynoose Road, Keady in the coming months. Work is also due to be completed on the Armagh Road, Charlemont by the end of September.
The Minister said: "This is a significant investment of almost £1million which will help improve the structural condition of over five miles of a number of main roads which connect urban communities.
"I would ask the public for their patience during these works as delays can be expected and should be planned for."
Work will start on the Keady Road Newtownhamilton near Carrickatuke on 23 September and is expected to be completed on 6 October. On the Summerisland and Ardress roads, work is planned to start on 7 October and be completed by 10 November.
The start date for the work on the Derrynoose Road, Keady will be dependent on progress at the Monaghan Road improvement scheme and resurfacing works at Madden and Lislynn which is scheduled for completion on the 28 October.
Road closures are required for each of these works and appropriate diversion routes will be designed and diversion signs erected.
Preliminary work has already been carried out on Main Street Charlemont to facilitate a traffic diversion. This is required to complete the resurfacing work on the Armagh Road Charlemont which is scheduled for the weekend of 27 to 29 September.
