Minister James Reilly TD has performed the official opening of the refurbished Loughloe House Day Resource Centre, Athlone which is providing rehabilitative day services for people with disability and mental health difficulties.
Officially opening the upgraded premises, Minister James Reilly TD said: "I am delighted to witness the re-opening of Loughloe House which is a very important facility for the people of Athlone. The opening today represents a significant milestone in the advancement of health services for the town which follows the completion of the new Clonbrusk Primary Care Centre and the opening of the Clonbrusk Resource Centre.
"We are working every day to provide health services which are patient centred, accessible and responsive to the needs of the community. Day Resource Centres such as Loughloe House, are a vital part in the wider provision of modern, quality services for the community. These are well established and valuable community services and I wish it continued success in the future to meet local needs in such an effective and practical way."
Minister Reilly paid tribute to the staff for the level of quality person centred care that is being provided at the new Loughloe House Day Resource Centre.
The newly refurbished property, which is named Loughloe House Day Resource Centre, has received a €1.125 million euro transformation. The modern design, with its impressive use of light and space includes dedicated rooms for arts and craft, music, and relaxation. It also provides a spacious day/living room, kitchen and central sensory garden in the court yard.
