Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £200,000 major resurfacing scheme at A6 Glenshane Road near the village of Curran, Magherafelt, in the next three weeks.
Preliminary work will begin on 9 June 2014. The work is expected to last for two weeks on this 400metre stretch of road.
The Minister said: "This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway at these junctions on this important Euro Route between Belfast and Londonderry."
To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses the majority of this work is programmed to be completed using a "Follow-me" traffic control system which reduces the traffic to alternating one way at a reduced speed of 20mph.
During the works, two-way traffic flow will be maintained.
