NIHE Homes In Larne Get Double Glazing Fitted

Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) tenants in Larne are benefiting from new contracts worth £17.5m that will see all homes fitted with double glazing by 2015.

Work is underway at almost 280 homes at Larne Town, Linn Road Millbrook, Islandmagee and Magheramorne, with an investment of more than £600,000.

Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland said: "I welcome the fact that the contracts are in place and work has started again on the double glazing programme to meet the Programme for Government commitment to install double glazing in all Housing Executive homes by the end of March next year.

"This is excellent news for tenants across Northern Ireland. Families will benefit greatly from the work which will ensure they are provided with more comfortable and warmer homes."
