University Of Limerick Library To Be Extended

€10 million has been secured to carry out extension works to the library in the University of Limerick.

Fine Gael TD for Limerick and Party Chairman, Dan Neville TD, has welcomed the commitment.

He said: "In recent times I had been contacted by numerous students of the University of Limerick regarding the need for a Library extension and this is an issue that I have discussed with the Minister on many occasions.

"There are currently over 13,000 students registered with the University of Limerick and the Library at present is designed to cater for a student population of between six and seven students. The extension of the library will, I understand, provide an additional 900 seats for the students."
