Primary and post primary students are being encouraged to enter this year's One Good Idea competition.
The competition, sponsored by AIB, requires students to come up with creative ideas on how to tackle climate change.
Since it first launched in 2008, over 5,000 students have created energy saving campaigns which targeted almost 100,000 children, teenagers and adults throughout the country. Students are encouraged to research and plan their energy saving campaign; run the campaign in their home, school or community; then create a pitch video of their campaign; and if successful they will be chosen to take part in the national final which takes place in 2016.
Tom Halpin, Head of Information at the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) said: "Every year we are inspired at the creativity shown by competitors in One Good Idea. We hope to build on that again this year, particularly as the competition is now open to all primary schools. I’d like to encourage students to get involved so they can start shaping a greener energy future for us all."
