Over £9 million has been secured for a new school build in L'Derry.
A total of £9.2m is to be invested to build a new development for Rossmar School in Limavady.
Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Ó hOisín has welcomed the announcement.
He said: "The funding has now been increased from £6.4 million to £9.2 million.
"This is great news for the local area and I am delighted at the progress that has been made on this issue.
"I have met with the principal, Brian McLaughlin, and the staff. I am sure they will be happy with this announcement and looking forward to the prospect of a new school building on the site to replace the current facilities, which are almost 70 years-old."
Construction work is expected to start later this year.
