Sinn Fein has hit out over the reduction in Housing Adaption funding available for people living with a disability in Co Offaly.
Deputy Carole Nolan TD said she will be raising the matter with the Minister in the Dáil to ensure that adequate funding is made available.
She said: "Recently, I made representations on behalf of a number of constituents who require necessary works to their accommodation in order to facilitate their needs.
"It is extremely concerning to be informed that, even if an applicant is deemed to be a priority one case by a relevant professional, the council will not be able to process the application for a number of years.
"Currently, the average waiting time for an application to be processed is three years although I am aware of some cases that are waiting even longer."
