Significant progress is being made on a new primary school extension in Portadown, Co Armagh.

Construction work is continuing to provide a 12-classroom extension at Millington Primary School.

Education Minister Peter Weir visited the site to view the progress on the £3.9 million scheme.

Minister Weir said: "I understand this new extension will address the immediate and pressing accommodation needs of the school. I hope the pupils and staff at Millington Primary enjoy their new and improved environment which will positively impact for many years to come.

"The best part of my job as Education Minister is visiting schools and having the opportunity to meet with those connected to that school. Each visit is unique and I especially enjoy hearing the many varied and interesting stories along the way."
