Future Of Infrastructure Projects In Jeopardy - SF

Future infrastructure developments will be affected as a result of Brexit, according to Sinn Féin.

MEP Martina Anderson said future projects would be "jeopardised" as the funding will no longer be available.

She said: "I welcome the fact that the Special European Union Programmes Body (SEUPB) has approved funding for the North West Transport Hub at the old Waterside railway station.

"We want to see more of these type of projects in the future but if the British Tory government succeeds in dragging us out of the EU then this type of funding will not be available.

"That, along with so many others things, is the impact of the British government's Brexit agenda.

"Sinn Féin has put forward a case for the north to secure designated special status within the EU and we are working to build support for that across Ireland and across Europe."
