The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) NI has proposed a training group to be established to combat issues within the flooring sector.

CITB NI's recommendation comes after the training provider visited a number of flooring sector companies across Northern Ireland. They helped identify training needs for the flooring sector and updated companies on the latest CITB NI products and services.

Several issues were raised from the findings, including apprentices and product training.

The Flooring Sector Training Group would work in partnership with CITB NI to address the issues raised and develop solutions.

CITB NI is seeking interested parties working in the flooring sector to get involved. It is envisaged that there will only be a couple of meetings during the training year.

Two dates have been proposed for a start-up meeting: Thursday, 20 September at 10am, and Wednesday, 26 September at 10am.
