A series of public realm improvements are entering the final phase of development in Antrim Town Centre with work scheduled in the Fountain Street area.
The area is being transformed with an investment of £870,000 which will see new paving, footpaths, landscaping, street lighting, and street furniture installed.
John McQuillan (Contracts) will carry out the work on behalf of Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council.
The scheme is being supported with £700k from the Department for Communities (DfC) and the remainder from the Council.
Paul Carr from the Department for Communities said: "This investment will further enhance Antrim's offering and will make the town even more attractive. It brings the Department's recent investment in the town to over £2.5 million and demonstrates our commitment to regenerating our town centres."
The Mayor of Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council, Councillor Paul Michael, added: "The Council is delighted that this scheme has been approved as it will help us complete the last key arrival street into the town centre. Our town centres are a priority for Council, and this additional investment to improve the Fountain Street area will be a key driver in improving the economic life of the town by helping to sustain and develop local businesses. We are looking forward to seeing the works get underway so that both residents and business owners can see the real benefits of working in partnership to regenerate our towns and villages."
