€13m Road Scheme Gets Underway In Kilkenny

A €13 million road scheme has commenced at Robertshill in Co Kilkenny.

Work will involve the delivery of a 2.3km single carriageway with footpaths and cycleways on both sides and public lighting throughout.

SIAC Construction has been appointed to complete the project.

The scheme will see a new distributor road constructed from the N76 Callan Road to the Circular Road, as well as the widening of the existing Circular Road from Robertshill to its junction with the Kilmanagh Road, and widening of the R695 Kilmanagh Road to Drakelands Nursing Home.

This work will help boost housing provision in the area, with approximately 600 new housing units expected to be provided over the next three to five years. Three schools are also planned for the area along with a significant amount of social infrastructure.
