Cavan County Council is set to move forward with the search for tenders for a new fire station in Ballyjamesduff.
The National Directorate for Fire & Emergency Management (NDFEM) confirmed the progression of the proposed scheme.
"Cavan County Fire Service has already commenced the necessary steps to facilitate the tendering process in accordance with the Department's approval," said Chief Fire Offer Noel O'Reilly.
The approval is subject to a maximum all-in contribution from the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government of €1,109,463.
