Contractors GRAHAM and BAM have been recognised for their work on the Acute Mental Health Inpatient Facility in Belfast.
The JV Healthcare team secured the Green Apple GOLD Award in the Building & Construction sector for Environmental Best Practice on the facility.
The Green Apple Environment Awards were established in 1994 as an annual campaign to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.
Delivered on behalf of the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust, the Acute Mental Health Inpatient Centre (AMHIC), is a "positive space for healing" where patients experience "inclusion and normalisation".
The £33m purpose-built unit, the first of its kind in Belfast, has enabled the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust to cater for mental health patients in one central location and accelerate the closure of antiquated buildings spread across multiple locations.
The 10,000m2 single storey centre, providing 74 acute mental health beds and six psychiatric intensive care beds, consists of five separate interconnecting buildings arranged around a cloistered central courtyard, and communal and administration areas.
