A programme of urgent repairs have been completed at Trim Water Treatment Plant in Co Meath, returning supply for residents in the area.
The plant suffered a mechanical breakdown yesterday, 08 January, which resulted in Irish Water deploying a team to the site.
Following completion on the repairs, water supply should have returned to customers in Trim town, Dunderry Road, Athboy Road, Bray Hill, Navan Gate, Saint Johns, Knightsbrook, Rock Road, Mornington, Manorlands, Longwood Road and Summerhill. Those in Rathmolyon also benefitted from a return in supply this morning.
However, reservoirs serving Trim and surrounding areas are empty and customers are urged to conserve water in order to allow them to refill.
Irish Water has warned there may be a restriction placed on the supply tonight should water levels in the reservoirs fail to recover.
