A proposal for a new housing development in the Galliagh area of L'Derry has been granted approval.
This scheme, which consists of seven homes at lands north of L'Derry's Lower Galliagh Road and the Skeoge Link Road, will help relieve housing stress across the Council area. Works will comprise of a three two-storey dwelling and a separate block of four two-storey dwellings and associated landscaping, parking and access.
Members of Derry City and Strabane District Council's Planning Committee were provided full detail of the proposal at the Guildhall, where the scheme was given full planning approval.
Welcoming the approval, the Chairperson of the Planning Committee Cllr Christopher Jackson said: "I am delighted that this application has been approved. This development will help relieve housing stress across our Council area and see the development of a range of modern and high spec housing for local people in the Galliagh and Skeoge Road areas of the city. This planned development is very much in keeping with Council's commitment to improve the quality of new housing."
