Road improvements have been announced for the County Antrim village of Maghaberry.

Two schemes will get underway in the village starting on Monday 06 June, totalling an investment of £645,000.

The first £368,000 resurfacing scheme on Mullaghcarton Road stretches from Cross Lane to White Lane over a distance of approximately 3.4 kilometres.

The second scheme costing £277,000 will be carried out along two sections of Maghaberry Road, from White Lane in a westerly direction for 1.24 kilometres towards Maghaberry Village and from the A26 Glenavy Road in an easterly direction towards Maghaberry Village for 0.53 kilometres.

To facilitate both schemes it will be necessary to implement weekday road closures along the affected roads for the duration of the works from Monday 06 June until Friday 12 August 2022 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. During these times a signed diversionary route will be in place using the Maghaberry Road - Mullaghcarton Road - A26 Glenavy Road - A3 Lisburn Road - Dagger Road and vice versa. Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works. 

These road improvement schemes are expected to be completed by 12 August 2022.
