A crew has been dispatched in Moygownagh, Co Mayo, following problems with the local water supply.
Customers were impacted by low pressure due to an issue at a pumping station supplying the Moygownagh area.
Irish Water and Mayo County Council are working to deliver the repairs and restore supply to customers.
Every effort is being made to maintain supply to as many customers as possible, but the issue has resulted in reduced water pressure and an intermittent supply.
Repairs are expected to be complete this evening, 25 July. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
Speaking about the repair works Ger Greally, Irish Water said: "The repairs in the Moygownagh area are being conducted as quickly as possible to minimise disruption to the community and restore water for all customers.
"We understand the inconvenience an intermittent supply can have on customers, and we appreciate their patience as we carry out repairs and return the water supply."
