A street lighting LED upgrade scheme is due to commence in Newtownards town centre.

The work will begin on the 23 October and is expected to be complete by mid November.

The scheme will include Regent Street, Frances Street, Gibson’s Lane, Mill Street, High Street, Lower Mary Street, Conway Square, Meeting House Lane, Castle Place and South Street.

As existing lights are replaced with new LED street lights, Newtownards will benefit from an improved night time environment.

In order to minimise public disruption, all work involving lane closures will take place from Monday to Friday between 5.30pm and 11.30pm.
