Water supply has been restored to residents in Kilkenny and the surrounding areas, Uisce Éireann has announced.

Critical infrastructure works were successfully completed through the night of Friday 11 October, and Dave Murphy of Uisce Éireann thanked customers and businesses for their patience and understanding during this time.

"The works went according to plan and the water is back in Kilkenny and the surrounding area," he said.

"Some people may have brown water and we would ask these people to run their taps for up to 20 minutes until the water runs clear. We would like to thank everyone for their patience during the duration of these works."
