Plans to create a 43-unit apartment block and two-storey church hall have been proposed for Barbour Park at Union Bridge in Lisburn, County Down.
Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council made the announcement that a developer has put forward the plans which would see them amalgamating the council owned land at Barbour Park, the land owned by Sloan Street Presbyterian Church, and the former Richard Crowthers Autos site.
The developer is seeking to create a larger development opportunity with frontage onto Young Street, Union Bridge and the River Lagan.
It will revitalise a key gateway site on an arterial route into the city and will see the provision of a two-storey church hall and a riverside apartment block of 43 units with designated car parking.
An improved greenway space with public access to the riverside towpath creating much needed greenspace for residents of the area is also proposed by the development.
The public are encouraged to attend an information session regarding the development, which will be held on Wednesday, January 15, in Sloan Street Presbyterian Church Hall from 12pm to 8pm.
Alternatively, feedback for the proposed plans can be provided online.
