Irish construction firm Sisk and Quintain have completed the latest phase of development at Wembley Park with the handover of Solar, a new Build-to-Rent scheme adding 487 homes.
It follows the earlier delivery this year of sister building Luna, which brought a further 282 homes.
The progress reinforces Wembley Park's standing as a flagship urban regeneration project and comes after The Sunday Times included the neighbourhood in its Best Places to Live 2025 list.
Constructed by Sisk, Solar is among London's first schemes to secure a successful Gateway 3 approval under the Building Safety Act, highlighting the capability of Quintain’s in-house team and delivery partners.
Solar and Luna are the first Quintain projects to adopt the developer’s embodied carbon construction targets set out in its Sustainability Brief for Development. These were established early in design, with both designers and contractors required to report performance against the targets through their appointments.
Now complete, Solar has achieved 473kgCO₂ₑ/m², meeting Quintain’s sustainability thresholds as well as current day equivalent UK Net Zero Buildings Standard limits. The result sets a new benchmark for upfront carbon at Wembley Park and saves more than 16,500 tCO2 compared with similarly designed schemes delivered before the Sustainability Brief was introduced.
Sisk delivered Solar alongside a consultant and supply chain team including architects Haworth Tompkins, Stace, Elliott Wood Structural Engineers, Griffiths Evans MEP Consultants, Jensen Hughes Fire Consultants, Gross Max and BHSLA Landscape Architects, Cumming Group Project and Cost Managers, Carney Sweeney Planning Consultants, Feix & Merlin Interior Designers, and Buro Happold Infrastructure Engineer & Sustainability Consultants.
The pet-friendly homes are arranged across three buildings of nine, 12 and 27 storeys, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments in multiple layouts. All residences feature high-quality fittings and appliances and are available furnished or unfurnished. Amenities total 23,907 sq ft, including a 1,228 sq ft state-of-the-art gym and a 2,947 sq ft residents’ lounge.
James Saunders, CEO of Quintain, said: "The successful delivery of Solar – one of London’s first Gateway 3 approvals - marks a milestone for Quintain at Wembley Park, with 6,000 new homes now delivered by our team across the estate. This, together with Union Park, the new HQ for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as part of a major partnership with Quintain and the London Borough of Brent and an additional new community centre, reinforces our commitment to the rapidly evolving neighbourhood, recently voted one of the best places to live in the UK."
