South Dublin County Council (SDCC) has confirmed it has earned ISO 50001 certification, the internationally recognised benchmark for energy management systems.
The Council said the certification reflects the dedication and collaboration of staff across the organisation to strengthen energy management, improve energy performance and support wider Climate Action commitments.
ISO 50001 sets out a structured framework for monitoring and enhancing energy performance, identifying opportunities to save energy and promoting continual improvement across Council operations.
Following an independent external assessment of the Council's Energy Management System, certification was granted by Amtivo, confirming compliance with the ISO 50001 standard within the defined scope of certification.
Describing the award as an important milestone, the Council said it will continue to build on this foundation by implementing energy improvement opportunities and further embedding energy management practices throughout the organisation.
This work underpins delivery of the Council's Climate Action Plan and its commitment to reducing energy consumption, improving efficiency and leading climate action across South Dublin County.
