The Office of Public Works (OPW) has approved Sligo County Council's application for funding under the OPW's Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme to support works in Ballymote, Co. Sligo.

A grant of €67,500 has been sanctioned for clearance works on the Carrigen's upper stream. The project will involve removing vegetation, clearing all culverts, and ensuring appropriate disposal of all materials taken from the site.
