Bonded rubber and rigid-board design offers a practical solution for domestic appliances, fitness equipment and stage cabinets
Advanced Acoustics is highlighting its Anti-Vibration Isolation Pad, a ready-to-install composite platform designed to reduce vibration transfer from domestic appliances, stage equipment and light machinery into the floor.
Priced at £24.99, the 600 × 600mm pad combines a 10mm recycled rubber crumb layer with a factory-bonded 12mm Moisture Resistant MDF board. The complete unit measures 22mm thick and is rated for appliances or equipment weighing up to 100kg.
The two layers perform complementary roles. The rubber layer absorbs vibration at source, while the rigid MDF surface distributes the equipment load across the rubber. This helps maintain consistent compression rather than concentrating the load beneath individual appliance feet.
The factory-bonded construction removes the need to source, align and secure separate materials. Installation involves placing the pad rubber-side down on the floor and positioning the appliance centrally on the MDF surface, with no adhesive or fixings required.
Applications include washing machines and tumble dryers, where spin-cycle vibration can travel through timber or concrete floors, as well as fridge freezers and domestic HVAC equipment that transmit compressor vibration into surrounding spaces.
The pad also provides a stable platform for PA cabinets, amplifiers and stage monitors, helping isolate low-frequency vibration from the stage or venue floor. Other uses include treadmills, cross trainers, small compressors and pumps, subject to the stated load limit.
For equipment with a larger footprint, multiple pads can be butted together, with black cloth tape applied across the joins on the MDF surface to hold the arrangement in place.
The rubber layer uses UK-sourced, post-industrial recycled rubber crumb with a density of 750kg/m³. The Moisture Resistant MDF surface can be painted if required. Although suitable for humid environments such as kitchens and utility rooms, the board is not waterproof and should not be exposed to sustained direct water contact.
Custom dimensions and a heavy-duty option are available on request for requirements beyond the standard specification.
The Anti-Vibration Isolation Pad is available to order directly from Advanced Acoustics.
