A new rotating biological contactor (RBC) has been installed at Cabragh Wastewater Treatment Works in County Tyrone, marking a key milestone in NI Water's £2.5 million investment at the site.
The fully enclosed, modern unit features a compact design that enables efficient and effective treatment, making it a valuable addition to the works.
Once the project is completed in spring next year, the upgraded facility will enhance wastewater services for the local community, improve future resilience and help protect nearby waterways, including the River Blackwater.
Tetra Tech and DLJ Water—incorporating Deane Public Works and Avove Ireland—are working with NI Water to deliver the improvements. A project video is available here: https://youtu.be/1kCqQ-t1p6Y
