Plumbing and Mechanical Services Training (PMST (NI)) Ltd has welcomed Jim Gourley to the post of general manager, further strengthening its lead role in providing apprenticeship training within Northern Ireland.
PMST (NI) supplies a high quality, employer led training approach and was created in partnership by Building Engineering Services Training (BEST) and the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers Federation (SNIPEF).
Jim brings to PMST more than 24 years' experience in the public, private and voluntary sectors, including 18 years at Northern Ireland Electricity where he was responsible for the training and development of engineering staff. He also spent four years as head of careers education and training and subsequently head of business development within a major change programme for the Northern Ireland office. Most recently, he was chief executive of Coaching Northern Ireland. He is also a founder member, former interim chair and member of the Skills Active Steering Group in Northern Ireland.
Jim stated: "I am delighted to be heading up PMST. My priority is to ensure we continue to deliver quality apprenticeship training and I hope to further develop our relationships with colleges in Northern Ireland. I have already established an agreement with six super colleges to provide direct learning provision and look forward to engaging with employers in the building engineering sector to ensure all of their needs are met."
