Final Pleas Made For Dublin's Tallest Hotel

Renewed pleas have been made to the planning appeals authority to grant permission for Dublin's tallest hotel.

An Bord Pleanala has heard from Treasury Holdings – the firm behind the 35-storey complex, based in the city's docklands.

Last month, the city council’s planning service rejected the controversial plans, prompting the developer to seek an appeal.

The £152m project would cater for visitors to the nearby National Conference Centre, currently under construction.

Plans for the tower have been continually shot down - due to its looming height.

Original plans, brought forward last December, faced opposition from a number of key parties – including businessman Dermot Desmond, An Taisce (the National Trust For Ireland) and the Dublin Docklands Development Authority.
