Cork City Council's Housing and Community Directorate has held an information event with new tenants in a city development.
The Gardaí supported the Pre-Tenancy Course for the Susie's Field Scheme which is due to be completed shortly.
Prospective tenants were provided with advice in the areas of rent management, maintenance, tenancy enforcement, community and tenancy participation, refuse collection, litter management and general information on services and supports being provided in the area.
Prospective tenants also had an opportunity to view the site layout and raise queries with employees of Housing and Community, the Community Warden and local Gardaí.
A spokeswoman for the council said: "The intention of the course (which is a pre-requisite for all new tenants of Cork City Council) is to lay the foundations for sustainable communities and to foster a sense of shared commitment to the future of those communities."
