Members gathered for a landmark day that combined AGM business with a new flagship conference exploring the challenges and opportunities facing Northern Ireland’s construction and built environment sector. The event provided a forum to reflect on the past year, confirm governance appointments and set priorities for 2026/27.
The AGM ushered in a change of leadership. After completing his two‑year term as President, Bryan Vaughan (Vaughan Homes) was thanked for his service. In a formal handover, Gareth Loye (Mascott Construction Europe) was elected President for 2026/27, having served as Vice President. Janet Deane (Deane Public Works) was elected Vice President.
Members also paid tribute to Martin O’Kane (Heron Brothers), who completed his term as Past President and stepped down from Federation Council. Peter Maguire (Tracey Brothers Ltd) was appointed to the Board as a new Council Director following the completion of Dominic Lavery’s (Farrans) term.
Further changes to Federation Council balanced continuity with fresh voices. Members thanked Aidan Flynn (FLYNN) and Aaron Hughes (GEDA Construction) for their service following completion of their terms, and noted the departures of Damian Gill (Felix O’Hare) and David Henry (Henry Brothers). Five new members were welcomed to Council: Noel Mullan (Heron Bros), Suzanne Nicholson (Farrans), Jody Wilkinson (Henry Brothers), Mark Campbell (Felix O’Hare) and Ray Hutchinson (Gilbert‑Ash).
The updated Federation Council for 2026/27 includes President Gareth Loye (Mascott Construction Europe), Vice President Janet Deane (Deane Public Works), Treasurer Mark Kelly (Kelly Brothers), Past President Bryan Vaughan (Vaughan Homes), and Council Directors including Peter Maguire (Tracey Brothers), Ian Lowry (Lowry Building & Civil Engineering), Jody Wilkinson (Henry Brothers), Declan McLogan (Sacyr), Ryan Tierney (Adman), Courtney McCormick (GRAHAM), Noel Mullan (Heron Bros), Mark Campbell (Felix O’Hare), Suzanne Nicholson (Farrans) and Ray Hutchinson (Gilbert‑Ash).
Members also approved appointments to the Federation’s sector committees for the year ahead, covering housing, asset management, civil engineering and general contracting. New and returning representatives from firms across Northern Ireland will help shape CEF policy, member engagement and industry priorities throughout 2026/27. Notable new appointments included representation from Nicor, CivCo, CTS Projects, Avove Ireland, Mannings Northern and Cleary Contracting, underlining the breadth and diversity of member involvement.
