The initial 26 homes at the new Convent Gardens scheme on Curlyhill Road, Strabane, have been officially handed over, marking a significant step towards delivering 78 new properties for the town.
Developed by Woven in partnership with BW Social Affordable Housing, the mixed-tenure project is being built on the site of the former Convent Grammar School.
The handover has enabled the first residents to start moving in, bringing the neighbourhood to life and laying the foundations for a new community at this historic location.
Representatives from Woven, the EHA Group, Ciaran Smyth Architects and the Braidwater Group marked the milestone at an official handover event.
Vincent Bradley, Development Director at The Braidwater Group, said: "Seeing the first tenants move into Convent Gardens is an incredibly rewarding moment for our team, Woven, the EHA Group and everyone who has contributed to the development.
"The handover of these first homes represents a significant achievement, through close collaboration with Woven and the dedication of everyone involved on site, we have been able to reach this important milestone.
"Convent Gardens is now beginning to take shape not simply as a housing development, but as a new community. We look forward to continuing work on the remaining homes and seeing more individuals and families make Convent Gardens their home."
Once complete, Convent Gardens will comprise 78 homes, offering a planned mix of social and affordable private housing. The wider works include landscaping, new access roads and essential infrastructure to create an attractive, well-connected residential setting.
