Families and businesses in Campile can expect a stronger, more dependable water supply following the completion of upgrade works by Uisce Éireann on the local network in County Wexford.
As part of the project, more than 1.85 kilometres of ageing water mains were replaced with modern, robust pipes. The old infrastructure had been prone to bursts and leaks, leading to supply interruptions and wasting treated drinking water.
The enhanced network is intended to provide greater reliability for households, community services and local enterprises across Campile.
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage James Browne TD from Wexford welcomed the completion of the works. "This is critical news for the people of Campile who will benefit from a more reliable water supply through these upgrades to the pipe network. I want to see more of this. We know that having a reliable water supply is fundamental to family and community life. With upgrade works by Uisce Éireann now complete in the town, I'm pleased to see further progress on improvements to Wexford's water supply and I am committed to getting further projects across the line locally."
Uisce Éireann's Dave Murphy said: "This essential work is part of a significant investment by Uisce Éireann to improve the water network across the country, prioritising investment where it is needed most, enabling these communities to thrive.
"We would like to thank the local community for their cooperation and patience during these works, some remaining reinstatement works will be completed in the coming weeks."
Shareridge Ltd. delivered the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
