The Land Development Agency (LDA) and Dublin City Council have submitted a Part 10 planning application for Phase 3 of the Cherry Orchard Point development in Dublin 10, proposing 312 new homes alongside retail and commercial space, public open areas and a range of amenities.

The Phase 3 plans comprise seven apartment blocks ranging from four to ten storeys. The scheme is designed to create a high-quality living environment, with landscaped public spaces, communal amenity areas and private open space for residents.

Improved connectivity features in the application include a new principal access route via Barnville Park, upgraded footpaths and cycle lanes, and a Barnville Park pedestrian link connecting Cherry Orchard, Park West and the Park West & Cherry Orchard railway station.

The submission marks the latest stage in the wider Cherry Orchard Point project and follows significant progress across the site. Subject to planning approval, the project aims to appoint a contractor following tendering in Q1 2028.

Construction on Phase 1 began in November 2025, with the first homes expected in 2028. This initial phase will deliver 708 homes, as well as a supermarket, creche, commercial, retail and community spaces. Phase 2 construction is also underway and will provide a further 137 homes along with additional public amenities.

In total, Cherry Orchard Point is set to deliver 1,157 new homes with community infrastructure and enhanced transport links, creating a vibrant new neighbourhood in west Dublin.
