Chartered Engineer and University of Galway alumnus John Gibbons brings extensive experience across water, transport and energy infrastructure. His track record includes Dublin's Ballycoolin Water Tower, rail improvements on the Kildare Route Project and the substation for the Walney Offshore Wind Farm.
As Energy Director, Gibbons heads Coffey's growing Energy division, working with clients and partners to deliver critical assets including back-up power generation facilities, anaerobic digestion (AD) projects and synchronous condenser installations.
These schemes support Ireland's evolving energy system by providing dependable power when required, turning organic waste into energy and bolstering grid stability as renewable generation expands.
Gibbons' priorities include developing Coffey's Energy business, deepening client relationships and uniting civil, mechanical and electrical expertise to deliver increasingly complex energy projects.
