Irish Water Invests £100,000 To Improve Water Supply For Residents In Redcross

Irish Water has invested €100,000 to install 500 metres of new watermain to its customers in Redcross, Co Wicklow.

The project also included upgrading the service connections that link properties to the public main and upgrading fire hydrants.

The new water main has cut down leakage in the network, will reduce supply disruptions and improve water pressure in properties for customers.

The investment also included the laying of a new water main on the road in front of properties and a new connection for properties to the water main. The work commenced in December 2017 and took four weeks to complete.

Ivan Corcoran, Capital Programmes Lead, East and Midlands Region said: "The installation of the new water main in Redcross in Wicklow has ensured a more reliable and secure water supply for customers. Residents will also benefit from improved water pressure to their properties. We also upgraded fire hydrants and connections along the Barndarrig Road. This project is part of our ongoing investment in Ireland’s water infrastructure in County Wicklow."
