Clare County Council has confirmed progress on two significant sports infrastructure projects in Kilrush, supported through Sport Ireland funding programmes.

Construction is set to start on refurbishing the Kilrush Sports Complex dressing rooms, providing modernised changing and shower facilities for local clubs and other users. The scheme is valued at approximately €145,000, with the Council contributing 25% alongside Sport Ireland support.

Separately, the Council has received approval to advance a lighting project for the complex’s cross-country and walking track, with works expected to commence shortly. Valued at €96,000, this project is also supported through Sport Ireland funding, with Clare County Council providing a 25% contribution.

Together, the initiatives represent a notable investment in sport and recreation in West Clare, broadening opportunities for participation across community and sporting activities. The upgraded dressing rooms will enhance facilities for teams and athletes, while the new lighting will extend use of the track throughout the year.
